Please note that some details of the schedule may change, so please check the schedule regularly for updates.

Posters should be formatted to A0-size portrait orientation (841 mm wide x 1189 mm tall) or smaller.

All speakers are requested to transfer their slides to the conference laptop via USB in the break before the session.

  • Contributed talk slots are allocated 15 minutes. It is recommended that contributed talks last <11 minutes for the presentation, and the remaining time (~4 minutes) is reserved for questions and speaker changeover.
  • Invited talk slots are allocated 30 minutes. It is recommended that invited talks last <24 minutes for the presentation, and the remaining time (~6 minutes) is reserved for questions and speaker changeover.
  • Plenary talk slots are allocated 45 minutes. It is recommended that plenary talks last <38 minutes for the presentation, and the remaining time (~7 minutes) is reserved for questions and speaker changeover.

Welcome reception, 17:00 – 18:00, Sunday 24th August. If the weather is good, the reception will be held on the College Backs/New Court Cloisters of St John’s College. If the weather is wet or excessively windy, the reception will be held in the Fisher Building of St John’s College.

Excursion to King’s College, 14:00, Tuesday 26th August:

  • King’s College is a short (<10 minute) walk from St John’s College.
  • IMPORTANT – Enter via the Clare Gate Entrance, Trinity Lane (NOT the main gate on King’s Parade).
  • Our entrance slot is between 14:00 and 14:15.
  • If you are a student, please bring your student ID card to help the conference secure the student admission fee.
  • Students and staff of the University of Cambridge are requested to bring their CAMCard for entry to King’s College.
  • Please bring waterproof clothing, e.g. raincoat, in case of rainy weather.

Excursion punting along the River Cam’s College Backs, 16:45/17:00, Thursday 28th August:

  • A 60-minute private chauffeured tour along the College Backs.
  • Our embarkation point, Quayside Punting Station (Magdalene Bridge, Bridge St), is a short (<10 minute) walk from St John’s College.
  • There will be two groups: Group 1 (60 people) arrive at Quayside Punting Station at 16:45 for 17:00 departure, Group 2 (remaining participants) arrive at Quayside Punting Station at 17:00 for 17:15 departure.
  • Please bring waterproof clothing, e.g. raincoat, in case of rainy weather.

Weather – Cambridge is often wet and windy. The weather has been unpredictable this summer. Please bring waterproof clothing for the two conference excursions. Due to the windy nature of Cambridge, umbrellas may not be ideal.

Visa – Please be aware that most visitors to the UK (including EU citizens) will require either an electronic travel authorisation (ETA) or a visa.
